I tested the JAVA MIDlets on my SonyEricsson. 2 things to note:
1. my screen is MUCH smaller than the JAVA template.
2. Only one operation can be supported at a time for optimal speed.
text is nice and clear. scrolling is smooth for single objects.
The reference to 'softkey' is the LEFT button for my phone, not RIGHT like the JAVA MIDlet.
